For the first time since Kurt Cobain’s death, Krist Novoselic joined fellow Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Pat Smear Tuesday night at an impromptu Foo Fighters concert at Paladino’s, a dive bar in Tarzana, California. The threesome played one Nirvana song — “Marigold,” the non-album b-side of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” — as well as material from their forthcoming album, which should be released in the spring.
“When I was writing the riffs for this record, they were getting heavier and heavier,” Grohl told Rolling Stone before the show. “There’s something about getting older and taking a right on fuckin’ Discharge Avenue rather than turning left on Tom Petty Lane.”
Read about the rest of the show — including the complete setlist — on RollingStone.com.
